Passports and Visas

Passports

A passport is not required to apply to any program; however, students will need one to travel abroad.  If you have a passport already, check that you have at least six (6) months of validity remaining on it. If you do not have a passport, you need to apply for one immediately.

Get started here travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html.  There is a Passport Office conveniently located near the District Office of International Programs at this address:

719 S Santa Rosa Avenue
San Antonio, TX 78204

Copies of your passport and visa need to be provided to the Office of International Programs no later than three (3) months prior to your departure date.

Passports for Non-U.S. Citizens

If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will need to make sure that you have a valid passport from your country of citizenship and a U.S. Residency card.  If your current passport has expired or been lost/misplaced, you will need to arrange to get a new one at your nearest country embassy or consulate.

Contact your Study Abroad Coordinator or faculty leaders if you have lost or had your passport stolen.

VISAS

Consult with the Study Abroad Office if you need a Student Visa to enter the country of your program. Copies of your passport and visa need to be provided to the Office of International Programs no later than three (3) months prior to your departure date.
