Announcements : Passport Grant Opportunity!

Through the Institute of International Education’s (IIE) Passport Project, the Office of International Programs is excited to announce that 25 Alamo Colleges District students will be selected to receive funding to support their application for a U.S. Passport!

Selected students will be reimbursed* up to $165 for their passport application fee ($130) and facility acceptance fee ($35). 

Who is eligible? 

• You must be a U.S. Citizen
• You must be at least 18 years old
• This must be the first time you've applied for a U.S. passport (does NOT cover passport renewals)
• You must be eligible to receive the Pell Grant or have demonstrated financial need. 

What is required? 
If selected, you will be expected to: 

• Complete a nomination questionnaire from the Institute of International Education
• Submit an application for a U.S. passport (This will require completing a passport application, paying passport fees, providing evidence of U.S. citizenship (e.g. original birth certificate) & Photo identification (e.g. driver's license or military ID), having a passport photo taken, and submitting your application at a designated passport acceptance facility.)
• Submit receipts of payment to the Office of International Programs.

*All funding will be issued to selected students via reimbursement for passport fees. In order to be reimbursed, you must provide receipts to the Office of International Programs. This grant does NOT cover expedited processing fees.
